One Reason I Accepted To Be Peter Obi’s Running Mate- Datti Baba-Ahmed Reveals

For Dr Peter Obi and his supporters who fondly regarded themselves as Obidients, this may likely be the final phase of preparation to embark on a full-blown race to Aso Rock ahead of 2023.

After weeks of waiting and searching for the right vice presidential candidate, the choice of a seasoned educationist, former Senator and intellectual scholar, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed was arrived at.

Baba-Ahmed who is from Kaduna State was officially unveiled in Abuja on Friday as the running mate to the former governor of Anambra state.

After the unveiling ceremony which took place at the party Secretariat, the university proprietor explained the reason he accepted the move to be Peter Obi’s running mate.

According to him, his decision to accept the nomination to be vice presidential candidate of Labour Party was borne out of his commitment to rescue Nigeria.

The former Kaduna North senator said he is not satisfied with the way things are going in Nigeria and he is ready to join hands with Dr. Peter Obi to rescue the country from the present situation.

He said at no time will university students go on strike under their watch if elected to office in 2023. Datti Baba-Ahmed made this assurance in his capacity as an educationist and proprietor of two private universities which both located in Nigeria.

The 53-year old vice presidential candidate made this statement after he was unveiled in Abuja on Friday.

In the same vein, while appearing on Friday edition of Channels TV Politics Today, Baba-Hammed promised to bring prudent procurement to the table and pyramid of enlightenment if elected into the office in 2023. 

He said he would not bring his cousin to the office and ensure Nigeria ‘s money is used for Nigeria’s purpose.
