Ruling Party Planted Seed Of Protest While In Opposition, But Now Want To Reap Orange Of Silence- Shehu Sani

A former Senator, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has mocked members of the ruling All Progressive Congress for expressing their disatisfaction with the nationwide protest staged by the opposition party.

RovingNaija recalls that the nation has been witnessing a barrage of protests since the conclusion of the presidential election held in February 25.

From the street to INEC headquarters, Military headquarters and offices of international communities located in Abuja, protesters have continued to express their anger and disappointment with the conduct of the elections which produced All Progressive Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president-elect.

However, the continuous protest has not augured well with members of the ruling party. They accused the protesters of trying to destabilize the nation, create unnecessary tension that will consequently lead to the installation of an Interim government in May 29 rather than paving way for the inauguration of the president-elect.

Reacting to the narrative, Shehu Sani relates the views of the ruling party to an act of hypocrisy.

Writing on his verified twitter handle on Wednesday, the former senator of the 8th Assembly said: The ruling party planted the seed of protest while in opposition but want to reap the orange of silence.”

He wrote: “When the Governing party was in the opposition,it planted the Coconut seeds of protests and now wants to harvest the Orange Fruits of Silence.”
