The Untold Story Behind Osinbajo, Tinubu’s Meetings With APC Governors In Less Than 24 Hours

Shortly after professor Yemi Osinbajo declared his intention to contest for president in 2023, the former governor of Lagos and National leader of the All Progressive Congress reportedly convened an emergency meeting with governors under the platform of the ruling party.

The meeting was coming less than 24 hours after the Governors met with the vice president which preluded his declaration on Monday morning. Osinbajo met with them on Sunday night.

Sources within the party disclossed that Tinubu had before now made several moves to have a meeting with the governors to no avail.

It was gathered that he had once tried to invite them to his Burdillion home in Lagos but with the governor claiming to either be engaged with party affairs or their state assignments.

Not bulged by their reluctance to yield to his request, the APC chieftain was said to have patiently waited for the right time to box the governors in a corner.

Inside sources disclossed that immediately the former Lagos governor was aware of Osinbajo’s meeting with the governor on Sunday evening, he jetted to Abuja so as to have an audience with the Governors.

He successfully had the meeting with them at the Kebi state house in Abuja. All the governors who previously met with Osinbajo were all in attendance of the second meeting with Tinubu.

However, the content of the meeting is yet to be disclossed as the meeting was held behind a close door.

It is however speculated that the meeting might be centred around a request to the Governors to support Tinubu’s presidential ambition.
In other word, the former governor of Lagos may likely be persuading the governors to dump Osinbajo and throw their weights behind his presidential moves.
