Ex-Lawmaker, Idris Slumps, Dies After Observing Eid Prayer

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Mohammed Idris, is dead.

Mohammed, who was the son of a former Governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris died on Wednesday shortly after he observed Eid-il-Fitir prayer in Abuja.

The former lawmaker reportedly slumped at his house in the FCT.

Before his death, Mohammed represented Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala Federal Constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

He will be buried according to Islamic rites at Gudu cemetery in Abuja.

RovingNaija News earlier reported the death of a traditional ruler, the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom in Lagos State, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka.

The monarch, aged 64, also died shortly after returning home from the Eid prayer ground on Wednesday.

The chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olasoju Adebayo, confirmed the passing of the monarch in a statement, announcing that the monarch would be “buried today by 4pm at his palace, 3/5 Akinbaye Street, Isolo, according to Islamic rites”.

Adebayo said he had Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive to “formally announce the passing of the paramount ruler of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, Adeola Olushi III, today April 10, 2024”
