Septugenarian, Okada Rider Narrowly Escape Death In Ondo

A commercial motorcyclist and a septuagenarian passenger have escaped death by a whisker in an accident which occurred at Oshinle area in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The Okada rider and his passenger according to eyewitness account were riding along road around FCMB Bank area, when a blue Toyota Camry on a top speed suddenly rammed into the motorcycle from the rear, pushing them off the road.

It was also gathered that the passenger, a woman, jumped off the bike into another vehicle through the rear wind screen, while the rider slid under the vehicle.

The eyewitness revealed that the blue Camry car was on a top speed as the driver who was reported to have been tipsy, lost control, while it somersaulted and landed on the other side of the road.

The driver of the Camry car with number plate Ondo AKR 880 MS, was lucky not to have sustained any injury on his bod.

It was also gathered that the old woman and the Okada rider whose identities were not known, were rushed to UNIMED Hospital by good Samaritans.

The incident was reported at the ‘B’ Division police station after which officers responded swiftly and towed the affected vehicle and motorcycle away.
