The Bandits That Abducted Us Are Small Boys- Cleric Recounts How He Escaped After 6 People Were Kidnapped In Kaduna

Some young bandits who are barely out of their teenage years, have kidnapped no fewer than six residents in Ungwan Maaji, new Millennium City, in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

RovingNaija gathered that the gunmen who invaded the community on Friday night, also shot and injured a resident.

The hoodlums reportedly attacked several houses before taking away the abducted residents to an unknown destination.

According to the survivors, the suspects stormed the area at about 9:10pm and attacked a house close to Chaha Eye Hospital where they abducted a housewife and her house help.

The bandits then attacked another house on the same street where they abducted four other persons.

Two other people who were sitting outside their house were also kidnapped, however they later escaped while they were being taken away through a stream at the back of the community.

The Imam of the area said he was yet to return home after leading the ‘Isha’i’ prayer usually done around 8:00pm when the gunmen stormed the community.

“I was picked up from the Mosque.  Then they broke into two other houses and picked six people. While they were breaking into the second house, I, another neighbour and others were asked to lie down on the floor,” he told Vanguard

“After the bandits broke into the second house and picked four people, we became eight and they started leading us out of the community. On getting to the stream at the far end of the community, the two of us picked outside escaped while they were attempting to make us cross the stream.

“The bandits were small boys. I think the eldest of them should not be more than 20 years old, he said”
