Police Ask Court To Forcefully Take Seun’s Blood Sample After They Didn’t Find Anything In His House – Sowore Alleges

Human Right Activist and presidential candidate of the Action Alliance in the last presidential election, Omoyele Sowore has accused the Nigerian Police of trying to extract revenge and not actually wanting justice in the ongoing trial of Afrobeat crooner, Seun Kuti.

Sowore raised another alarm about how Seun is being maltreated by the police in order to nail him with a heavy charge in court.

According to him, “the police are asking the Magistrate to allow them forcefully draw Seun Kuti’s blood after they did not find anything in his house.”

Recalled that the police have dispatched men to his house on Monday in search of incriminating evidence against the Afrobeat singer.

The move came few hours after Seun voluntarily submitted himself at the Lagos state Command headquarters for arrest and investigation.

He was granted bail the following day by the court but was told to remain in Police detention for 24 hours pending the conclusion of investigation.

However, after the duration stated by court, Seun is still in police custody.

Sowore however raised an alarm about how he is being treated by the police on Friday.

Making the allegation known on his verified twitter handle, Sowore said:

“@PoliceNG asks Chief Magistrate in Lagos to allow them forcefully draw @RealSeunKuti’s blood for testing after they didn’t find anything in his house and car during search. This is about revenge not justice!”
