We Beat Him And Hit His Head With Rod- Suspects Explain How They Killed Naval Officer In Ondo

Three persons suspected to have killed a Naval Sub-Lieutenant at Idoani in Ose local government area of Ondo State have been paraded by the Police.

Parading the suspects, spokesperson of Ondo Police Command, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that the suspects were arrested while trying to flee the community after allegedly attacking and killing the Naval officer, Akingbohun Samuel Ayomide.

One of the suspects, 20yr-old Sambo Ayomide who confessed to the crime, explained that the late Sub-Lieutenat Akingbagbohun Ayomide was beaten and hit with a rod after a minor disagreement on the road.

The suspect said the officer was beaten this week Monday because they thought he was a fake naval man, noting that they did not have the intention of killing him.

However, the Police Spokesperson disclosed that it took a joint effort to get the suspects arrested.

Mrs Odunlami-Omisanya added that the suspecs would be charged to Court on Monday, July 3 2023 for immediate prosecution.
