 By A’isha Biola Raji
Former Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria has raised alarm over what he termed as “persistent” borrowing from pension funds.

Senator Sani made this known Monday when he took to his twitter handle saying, “Government’s Persistent borrowing from pension funds can empty it.”

Reactions have however followed the tweet; Emmanuel Onyeabor said, “True…. please I beg pension not to borrow them… it would be injustice to deny this old people their pension even if it’s for a month!”
Obakiyesi Henry said it is Social Economic Right and Accountability Project (SERAP) that is talking for workers as Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) are nowhere to be found.

Rovingnaija recalls that the Federal government is proposing to borrow 2 trillion naira from the pension funds at 9 percent interest rate to finance infrastructural projects nationwide.
