Nduka Ugbade Drums up More Support For Rohr
Ex-International Nduka Ugbade has called on Nigerians to throw their weight behind Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr.
In a chat with Roving Naija, the former U-17 World Cup-winning coach said he is confident that the former Gabon tactician will deliver the mandate he is saddled with given his coaching pedigree over the years.
The MFM FC coach thumped up Rohr’s for providing the right platform for young footballers to showcase their talents for the national team and then posited that such laudable steps will go along way to help Eagles play at its peak.
” I really don’t have any advice to give Rohr as regard Super Eagles because he’s been on this job long before me.
” I can only call on Nigerians to support him on his quest to take our football to the next level. If you look at what he is doing, he has been able to give lots of our young footballers the much-needed opportunity to prove themselves in friendly matches”.
“This will help him get the best from the large pool of players at his disposal. Let us be patient with him and hope that everything goes well for the team,” he said.
He then downplays concerns over Rohr’s inability to win a major trophy for the national team in his first two years, saying there will be light at the end of the tunnel
” Even the Germans don’t win most of their friendly matches too but the coach kept trying different players to play alongside the likes of Tony Kroos and other matured players.
” We must be patient with Rohr and in no time we will reap the reward afterward,” Ugbade told Roving Naija
