Breaking news: The Intelligence Response Team of the Police IG arrives in Katsina

The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has arrived in Katsina State on a special mission to check the activities of terrorists in the home state of President Mohammadu Buhari.

Led by Abba Kyari, the multi award winning commander and Deputy Commissioner of Police. the team arrived in Katsina Tuesday to work with other security agents to restore normalcy to the embattled state.

investigation reveals that the deployment of the special Police unit is not unconnected with the recent abduction of hundreds of students in the state and it follows calls by concerned Nigerians that the Police force should be more involved in civil matters.

It would be recalled that the leader of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group recently confirmed in an audio that the armed group was responsible for the abduction of hundreds of students from an all-boys school in the northwestern state of Katsina.

The number of missing students remains unclear even as Military spokesman General John Enenche said that 333 pupils were unaccounted for after heavily armed gunmen raided the all-boys Government Science Secondary School in the town of Kankara.
