Fani-Kayode lambasts TV guest over comments on Southern Governors

A former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode has poured out vernom on a guest on Kaakaki, the flagship programme on Africa Independent Television (AIT), for criticising the recent meeting of Southern Governors held in Asaba, Delta State, on Tuesday.

The unidentified interviewee criticised the southern Governors for converging to make laws for their region and respective states without first consulting with leaders and indigenes of Fulani extraction.

While quoting the late Indian leader and sage, Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948), to underscore his point, he said: “whatever you do for me, without me, is against me.”

But in a swift reaction on his official twitter handle, on Thursday, Mr. Fani-Kayode, a lawyer cum social critic, took exceptions to the comments with vituperative words saying:

“The arrogance and effontry of this un××××××× Phillistine appals me. Why should Southern Governors consult with Fulani leaders about the laws they are passing in their respective states? Are Southerners slaves? And what the hell does he mean when he says Southern Governors?

“…should “be careful”? This man should stop playing with fire. We want peace and are ready to build bridges but any attempt to threaten, denigrate, enslave or intimidate us will be met with contempt, disdain, defiance & a ruthless resolve to resist those that seek to oppress us.”
