Fani-Kayode Reacts To Wole Soyinka’s Statement Over Baba-Ahmed’s Outburst On Channels TV

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the statement made by the Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka over the comment of the Labour Party vice presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Baba-Ahmed, while responding to questions from Seun Okinbaloye on Channels TV Politics Today some days ago, cited the constitutional provision that restrained Bola Ahmed Tinubu from being inaugurated as president.

According to Baba-Ahmed, Tinubu did not fulfill the condition for being a president and if sworn-in in May 29, it will be akin to a suspension of the constitution and his swearing-in will amount to inauguration of military regime.

He advised president Muhammadu Buhari and Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola not to be part of an illegal and unconstitutional inauguration of the president-elect.

Responding to the statement while featuring on Wednesday edition of Arise TV Morning Show, the Nobel Laureate condemned Baba-Ahmed’s outburst, describing it as reckless and dangerous.

Wole Soyinka disclosed that he has never heard anyone threaten the judiciary as Datti did on National TV.

Reacting to Soyinka’s position, Fani-Kayode, who is the New Media Director of Tinubu’s presidential campaign council said the reverred professor has justified what they (Tinubu’s PCC) have been saying all this while.

Relating Soyinka’s statement to that of Lai Mohammed, Fani-Kayode said the Obidients movement has been spiritually and physically wounded.
