EXCL: Rohr hails Leicester City coach over Iheanacho

Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr has heaped praise on Leicester City manager Brendan Rodger for his role in changing Kelechi Iheanacho’s scoring fortune at the club.

In an exclusive chat with Roving Naija at Eko Hotels and Suites,  Tunde Adelakun, a member of Super Eagles backroom staff disclosed that Rohr has continued to shower encomiums on the Scott for his efforts in helping Iheanacho’s rediscover his mojo.

” We won’t take the glory for Iheanacho’s resurgence, but Rohr has continued to heap praise on Brendan Rodgers to keeping faith with our man,” begins Tunde Adelakun

” All we did was to talk to him and encourage him to keep working hard because once the head is ok, then the rest won’t be difficult. Rohr believes Brendan deserve all the accolades for his role in helping the young man regain his scoring form again,” he said.

The former Super Eagles striker hit an all-time low at the club last season as he struggled to tie down regular shirt given the array of stars at the club, and he was top on the lists of players to be offloaded last summer.

But the former Liverpool boss kept faith with “Nacho” and deployed the Nigerian forward mostly in FA Cup matches as the club embarked on their chase of silverware, and he has rewarded his manager’s faith by delivering the goods week in, week out.

Iheanacho

Iheanacho’s has scored six goals in 16 Premier League matches this season and three in seven Europa League appearances, but it was his hat-trick in Leicester 5-0 mauling of Sheffield United that confirmed his resurgence from rock bottom.

The 24 years old has now been rated as one of the most in-form strikers at the club and would be instrumental to the club’s quest for a top-four finish in the EPL.

Rohr will be hoping that Nacho maintained his form as Nigeria attempt to win AFCON 2022 silverware in Cameroon
