Mr. Sylvester Ntefre, a former PDP chairman in Orukanam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has been killed by gunmen.
The PDP Chieftain was killed in his home at Ekparakwa town in the council area on Sunday morning.
According to sources within the town, the hoodlums stormed Ntefre residence around 8a.m. on Sunday in a black Jeep, they dragged him outside from his house and escaped with him through the bush.
Later, there was a gunshot fired by the assailants which attracted the youths and consequently chased after them.
It was gathered that before the youths could catch up with the kidnappers in the nearby bush where they took him to, they have shot him dead.
However, it could not be ascertained their reason for killing him as nothing was reportedly stolen from house neither was a call made to his family or community by the gunmen to demand for ransom.
