Prison Break: I Expect The President To be Addressing Nigerians By Now, Not His Advisers- Sen. Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume, the chairman Senate Committee on Army is one of the people who is not happy with the situation of the country and he is not hiding that fact from the public.

Since the deadly attack by the blood thirsty terrorists who invaded the Kuje Prison in Abuja and freed over 800 inmates including members of Boko Haram set, convicted Criminals and those who are awaiting trials, Nigerians have been talking tough on various media platforms.

On Thursday, Ali Ndume expressed his mind on the situation while featuring on Channels TV Politics Today which was anchored by Seun Okinbaloye.

While he was asked to react to the situation and what he feels should be done as a solution to the problem, Ndume said if things continued like this on the part of government, there can never be solution to the problem.

He noted that what president Buhari needed to have done the moment he visited the scene and ascertained the situation was to address the nation and reassure them of his commitment to safety of lives and property.

He said he was disappointed that since the incident happened, the president has not deemed it fit to address the nation. How do you rebuild the confidence of the people who voted for you? People want to hear a word of assurance from their president and not from his advisers.

Nobody voted for his spokesmen but it was him people gave their votes. He is expected to be talking to people at a time like this when the morales are down.

Speaking on CCTV camera, Senator Ndume stated that he knows there are CCTV cameras in the facility but he is not sure if they are working or not. He said if they were to be working, by now we should be able to have a clue of how those terrorists invaded the premises and escaped through the CCTV footage.

He also said by now, some of the security chiefs should be answering questions if they are still in office. But nobody is calling them to question, so he would not be surprised if another attack occurs in another place anytime from now. Life goes on. There is no way things will continue like that and we will expect solution to it.

It could be recalled that immediately after Buhari visited the scene, he traveled to Dakar in Senegal.

These are part of reasons senator Ndume was not happy with the entire situation. He made it known on Channels TV Politics Today.
