Gunmen Attack Plateau Community, Injure Two
Two persons have been injured in an attack by suspected gunmen in “KUNGA”, a community close to Yelwan Zangam, along Bauchi road in Jos metropolis, Plateau State.
Sources told newsmen, “There was an attack at “KUNGA” a community close to Yelwan – Zangam some few kilometers from Jos metropolis along Bauchi road after the University of Jos Narguta hostels at about 12:00 hrs.
“It took the intervention of the Nigerian Police Force (even though they were a little late) to calm the situation and 2 people were hospitalized as search and rescue is ongoing by the Police, Hunters group and the Vigilante.”
Plateau Police spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, who confirmed the incident, said: “Our officer responded to your emergency, and they are doing everything possible to ensure that the area is peaceful.
“On behalf of the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, CP Bartolomeow Onyeka, the command wants to thank you for personally making that timely call.
“We also want you to know that by that information given us at that critical time, lives and properties were saved, this shows that you are your brothers’ keeper, we say thank you and urge you to do more in this fight against crime and criminality on the Plateau.
“You have nothing to worry about, the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command CP Bartolomeow N. Onyeka has made adequate security arrangements to ensure that all is well and everybody is safe within and outside the “KUNGA” community,” he said.
