It’s True We Have Challenges As Govt But It Would Have Been Worse If PDP Were Still In Power- Gov. Bello

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has admitted that the current administration of the All Progressive Congress led by president Muhammadu Buhari has been confronted with myriad of Economic challenges in the last 7 years.

The governor made this known while featuring on Wednesday’s edition of Arise TV Morning Show where he was grilled on several issues bothering on 2023 and the chances of his presidential candidate in winning the election.

Governor Bello, who has just been appointed as National Youths Coordinator of Tinubu Shettima’s Campaign Council, acknowledged that there are saboteurs both within and outside the government that are making the country more difficult for the government to fix.

Asked to respond to the economic comparison drawn between this administration and the past administration especially in the area of GDP, inflation rate, debt and others, the governor noted that things are better now than it was during Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

He revealed that it is true that  Buhari’s administration is confronted with many challenges, however, it would have been worse than this if PDP had remained in power from 2015 till date. 

He identified several rots that plagued the PDP administration for sixteen years and how those rots have been corrected under this government. 

While acknowledging the fact that Nigeria’s debt has skyrocketed in the last seven years compared to the previous government, he said the money borrowed is used for infrastructural projects that everybody can see and be proud of.

He questioned the statistics being churned out by the National Bereau of Statistics saying most of the figures they release are unrealistic and do not portray the actual situation of things in Nigeria.

Governor Bello said this administration has done well compared to the previous government but there are people within and outside the government that are sabotaging its efforts.
