In 2015, I Was On The Other Side, Now I’m On His Side- FFK Justifies His Criticism Of Tinubu In 2015
The former Minister of Aviation and Director of New Media for Tinubu Campaign Council, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the old video circulating on social media where he was throwing verbal assaults on the All Progressive Congress and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2015.
Fani Kayode had once been a major thorn in the flesh of the ruling party while he was in the opposition People’s Democratic Party. He had once stated that he would rather die than join a blood infested APC and claimed it is an insult for anyone to speculate that he would defect to APC at that time.
Fani Kayode maintained his ground when he was still a vibrant and articulate member of the PDP. But right now, he is an ardent loyalist of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a strong image maker of his candidacy and vocal member of the All Progressive Congress.
He was appointed as the Director of New Media of the Tinubu Shettima’s Campaign Council about a week ago. Since his appointment took effect, FFK as fondly called has been diligently doing his job on social media without minding whose Ox is gored.
On Thursday, the former PDP Chieftain practically courted the trouble of many Nigerians on social media after he called out the candidate of the Labour party, Dr. Peter Obi and stated that Obi is the lowest of the four leading presidential candidates ahead of 2023.
He noted that the former governor of Anambra state will come a distant fourth in 2023 when the election is conducted. He said the presidential election is for the big boys and not for the likes of the labour party candidate.
The statement roundly triggered an outrage among several supporters of Peter Obi who used the opportunity to dig out several old tweets and videos where Fani Kayode had released series of venomous attacks on Tinubu, President Muhammadu Buhari, and the ruling All Progressive Congress.
Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode in his verified twitter page on Friday night said he was on the other side in 2015 but now, he is on Tinubu’s side.
He wrote: “Playing old videos and press conferences of mine from 2015 criticising and condemning BAT will not help your candidate.
We are in 2022 and not 2015.
I was on the other side then and today I am on this side.
Old things have passed away: behold all things are new.
Whether you like it or not I am with BAT and I will stand with him till the end just like I did with GEJ and OBJ years ago.
If you like it clap for yourself.
If you do not like it please go to Apapa and jump in the lagoon.”
