Leave Ondo State out of your Yoruba Nation plan, Gov. Akeredolu warns Sunday Igboho

The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has asked Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, not to include Ondo state in his agitation for a Yoruba nation that is not a part of Nigeria.

Governor Akeredolu spoke at the swearing in of the new Secretary to the State Government, Princes Catherine Oladunni and other special Advisers at the government house, Akure.

Akeredolu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) said the people of Ondo state are determined to remain a part of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as presently constituted, adding he will not allow any part of the state to be used for any agitation that would suggest, in the least, that the people of his State are in support of an “unthinking rabble rousing.”

He said Ondo State will not degenerate to any forms of banditry and recklessness to drive home its demands, just as he said that the right of citizens to discuss, agitate and even fight to correct real or perceived wrongs, must be done within the safe confines of the law.

Governor Akerodolu also condemned the recent attack on the convoy of the Governor of Benue state while he called on the Federal Government to move against those working to destabilise the country.
