I Should Have Detained Peter Obi In Kaduna Just As He Did To Me At Anambra In 2013- El-Rufai

Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has opened-up a can of worms about his encounter with the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Dr Peter Obi in 2013 when he was governor of Anambra State.

El-Rufai made a revelation about the incident while speaking at the programme organised by Arewa Joint Committee Interactive Session in Kaduna on Monday.

According to the governor, Peter Obi detained him in his hotel for 48 hours when he came to Anambra in 2013 for a governorship bye- election.

He said he should have done the same for Peter Obi who is the presidential candidate of an opposition Labour Party and will be coming to make a speech at the programme but he won’t do that.

He disclosed that he has the security agencies like Police, DSS, and even the Army that can carry out his order if given but being a northerner, he would not do that.

Peter Obi is one of the presidential candidates invited for the programme to present a speech and his vision for Nigeria ahead of 2023 general election.

Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier presented his speech at the event on Monday.
