2-Month-Old Baby Dies After Father Broke His Hand For Disturbing His Sleep

A two-month-old infant whose father crushed his hand for disturbing his sleep has died.

Recall that a few days ago, RovingNaija reported the news about the father, Confidence Amatobi, broke his sons hand for disturbing his sleep.

The injury later resulted in the amputation of the baby’s hand and the sad news trended all over various news platforms and social media.

Imo State chairperson of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Dr. Dorothy Nnaji, disclosed that the baby’s father had repeatedly slapped the child on the arm with a plastic instrument to stop him from crying because he claimed the child was disrupting his sleep. She expressed disbelief that a father could treat his own child in such a horrible way.

The baby’s mother, Favour Chikwe, described how she left the child with his father to use the bathroom and returned to find the child crying excessively.

She said she rushed inside to find out what was wrong and was horrified to discover the child had a broken bone and swollen hand. She questioned the father, who responded that he had been hitting the child to attempt to stop the sobbing since it was affecting his sleep.

According to reports, a tweep Kanu Garba, who shared the sad news of the baby’s death said – “The two-month-old baby who was beaten by his father for disturbing his sleep died today. Before his death, the hand was badly injured and had to be amputated. The father can now sleep peacefully.”

According to reports, the father is currently on the run and as a result, he has not yet been apprehended.
