The bloody clash between Fulani and Hausa settlers in Ogbese, the Akure North Local government area of Ondo State has reportedly left one person dead while several other people injured with shops burnt.
It was gathered that the clash started on Tuesday evening and snowballed into a full blown crisis by Wednesday morning, leading to the burning down of several shops at the market.
A source said the clash was ignited by a fight between the Fulani settlers and the Hausa community.
Reason for the clash could not be established precisely as at the time of filing this report, as security operatives on ground refused speak on the matter.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmi Odunlami Omisanya has also not spoken on the development.
Meanwhile, there’s calmness in Ogbese market as at press time, with heavy security presence. But residents and traders could be seen in numbers lamenting about the incident.
