DSS Reacts To Invasion Of CBN Headquarters To Arrest Emiefele

The invasion of Central Bank of Nigeria has been denied by officials of the Department of State Security, DSS.

In a statement issued in respect of a circulated report that the apex bank premises was invaded on Monday with the aim of arresting the central bank governor, Godwin Emiefele, the State Security Service, denied the report, saying it is not true.

Below is a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the spokesman of the service, Peter Afunanya (PhD. Fsi):

“The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to the false news making the round that its operatives invaded the Central Bank of Nigeria and arrested its Governor, today 16/1/23. This is fake news and quite misleading.”
