Just In: DSS Invades CBN Headquarters, Set For Emiefele’s Arrival On Tuesday

The battle between the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and the Department of State Security (DSS) has taken a new turn on Monday following the invasion of the apex bank by men of the secret service.

After their forceful and commando-like invasion of the premises, the operatives were said to have condoned off the office of the embattled governor of the central bank, Godwin Emefiele.

According to Leadership Newspaper, it was reported that there has been a running battle between the DSS and Emefiele over alleged terrorism financing against the latter.

Recall that the secret service had also earlier sought a court order to arrest Emefiele but was turned down by the court and subsequently barred from arresting, inviting, or detaining Emefiele.

Emefiele has been out of the country for his annual leave, which is expiring on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
