Reverend Michael Onifade, the Parish Priest of Saints George’s Catholic Church, Omu Ekiti in Oye Ekiti Local Government has been released.
The clergyman was kidnapped last Saturday.
Confirming his release to Radio Nigeria, the Owajumu of Omu, Oba Adeyeye Ogundeyi said his abductors released him along Itapaji Road.
Oba Ogundeyi said the priest is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
Reverend Father Michael Olofinlade was kidnapped on Saturday between Itaji/ Ijelu Ekiti road while returning from a pastoral work in Ado Ekiti.
It is not however clear if any certain amount was paid as ransom for his release.
