If You Must Be Called Your Excellency, The Process Of Your Emergence Must Be Excellent- Peter Obi

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Peter Obi has thrown a jab at the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the process that led to his victory at the just concluded presidential election.

Tinubu contested the election alongside the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

However, the process that produced Tinubu has been heavily criticized by other candidates who described it as fraudulent and flawed.

In a separate press conference organised by both parties, the presidential hopefuls vowed to retrieve their mandate at the court, alleging that INEC compromised its standard and violated the electoral act as amended in 2022.

In the press conference organized by Peter Obi on Thursday, the former Anambra state governor said he would not congratulate the winner because the process that brought him the victory was not excellent.

Reinstating his position, Obi took to his verified twitter handle on Friday evening, saying: “If you must be called your Excellency, the process of your emergence must be excellent”. He wrote: “If you must be referred to as “Your Excellency”, then the process through which you arrived in office Must be excellent.”
