Buhari, Tinubu Led Opposition In 2003, 2007 And 2011, They Didn’t Call For An End To Democracy- Keyamo 

The Chief spokesperson of the Tinubu Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo has mocked the decision of Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar and other presidential candidates in the last presidential election to challenge the outcome of last February 25 election.

Peter Obi, who had officially filed his petition on Monday, is challenging the election of the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is now the president-elect.

Obi is seeking for the annulment of the election, claiming it was fraught with irregularities and that INEC failed to comply with its own regulation of real-time transmission of polling units results through the IREV portal.

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party and about four presidential candidates from other parties are toeing the same path with Peter Obi.

While commenting on the move, the Minister of Labour and Employment attributed the decision of the aggrieved presidential candidates to a move for the annulment of democracy in Nigeria.

Festus Keyamo, who reacted on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday said: “Buhari and Tinubu led opposition in 2003, 2007 and 2011 and they did not call for an end to democracy.”

He also claimed that their supporters did not tear their passports but rather, got up, reached out and formed a broad coalition which eventually unseated the PDP.

He wrote: “When the then opposition led by @officialABAT and @MBuhari were defeated in 2003, 2007 and 2011, they did not call for an end to democracy neither did their supporters tear their passports. They got up, dusted themselves, reached out, formed a broad coalition and unseated the PDP.”
