Nigerian Police Reveal Full Identities Of Three Officers Who Slapped, Assaulted A Man On The Highway

Three police officers have been arrested and currently detained for assaulting an innocent man while driving on the highway in Rivers State.

The video of the incident went viral on Monday and elicited outrage from Nigerians.

In the viral video, the man who drove in a Toyota Corolla car, was stopped by the highway policemen. After a few moments of conversation, one of the officers used the long stick in his hand to hit the driver.

He defended himself and collected the stick. The officer however went further to slap him. All these were happening in the presence of the man’s wife who was still in the car.

The video of the incident made its way to social media and consequently caught the attention of the Force Headquarters.

While reacting to the incident, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the men who were involved in the harassment have been arrested.

Adejobi disclosed their full identities on his verified twitter handle on Tuesday.

He wrote: “Inspector Adejoh Siaka; Inspector Friday Obaka, and Sgt. Ndiwa Kpuebari from Rivers State. These are the men who slapped a man on the road in Rivers. They reported at the Force Headquarters today. Trial will soon commence. We will update you as soon as possible. Thanks
