Obi’s Close Ally Narrates How Nigerians Protested When Peter Obi Was Arrested & Detained For Impersonation In UK

The news of Peter Obi’s detention at the Heathrow Airport, London has been creating ripples on social media platforms since it was revealed by his close ally on Wednesday.

Until the news broke out this morning, little did Nigerians especially his ardent supporters fondly known as Obidients, know that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party had gone through such an emotional torture in the last few days.

According to his former ex-commissioner for Information during his tenure as governor of Anambra state, Professor Chinyere Okunna, Peter Obi was arrested and detained for several hours on Friday when he went to London to honour an invitation at a London Church.

The Professor of Mass Communication made this revelation on Wednesday morning saying Peter Obi spoke to her at the official opening of a Specialist Hospital of The Immaculate Heart of Mary, Nkpor, Anambra on Tuesday.

Although, the discussion was expected to be confidential between the two parties, Okunna could not keep such a disturbing information and National embarrassment to herself.

She decided to make it a public matter after getting all the details from the former Anambra governor.

Peter Obi had reportedly travelled to London on Friday last week. On getting to the Heathrow Airport, he joined the queue to pass through the immigration check and that was how he was ordered out for questioning.

He was said to have been detained for several hours at the airport. According to the immigration officials, the presidential candidate was being impersonated by someone who uses his name to carry out all sorts of atrocities in the country. His Identity has been duplicated.

Professor Okunna however disclosed that when Nigerians who know Peter Obi saw him where he was detained and being questioned, they started a protest at the airport.

As a matter of fact, it was the pressure from their protest that made the immigration officers to reveal the real reason Obi was detained.

It was disclosed that the allegation against him is dangerous and can land him in a serious trouble if not quickly checkmated.

Expectedly, the revelation from Professor Chinyere Okunna has triggered reactions from Nigerians.
