Ex- Lagos Boxer Punches Wife Into State Of Coma Over Remote Control

The Ondo State police command has apprehended a 56-year-old former Lagos boxer, Moses Olapade for beating up his wife till she became unconscious, after she allegedly refused to hand over their Television remote control to him.

The incident occurred at No. 9, Odamo street, Oke-Aro Community in Akure South local government area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that Olapade, who is also a truck  driver, plying the Northern part of the country every forthnight returned home on the fateful day and wanted to watch a programme on TV.

He was said to have asked his 44-year-old wife, Atinuke Olapade, to hand over the TV remote control, but she declined.

The already frustrated Olapade, who was a Lagos State ex- boxer reportedly descended on his wife with several punches to her face.

It took the intervention of neighbours to rescue the woman from her husband after the children ran out screaming for help.

Reports had it that when the neighbours broke into the house to rescue the woman, they met her on the floor unconscious and they quickly rushed her to the nearest hospital, while the husband was made to foot the hospital bill.

The matter was reported to leaders in the community who called on men of the Nigeria Police Force and the truck driver was arrested.
