The World Mourns As Rock And Roll Queen, Tina Turner Dies After A Protracted Illness

Legendary singer and Queen of Rock and Roll, Tina Turner is indeed dead. Sadly.
She died in her home in Switzerland Wednesday, May 24, after a protracted illness.
”Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll’ has died peacefully on Wednesday at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
With her (death), the world loses a music legend and a role model,” a statement from her representatives read
The US-born star was one of the best-loved female rock singers, known for her on-stage presence and a string of hits including The Best, Proud Mary, Private Dancer and What’s Love Got to Do With It.
She is survived by two of her four sons – two preceded her in death – and her husband, Erwin Bach.
Born as Anna-Mae Bullock in 1939 in Brownsville, Tennessee, to Zelma and Floyd Bullock, Turner overcame a turbulent childhood and an abusive marriage to become a musical sensation and legendary performer.
Throughout her career, Turner won eight Grammy’s from 25 nominations and three lifetime Grammy Awards.
Her final stadium concert was in Sheffield, England, in 2009.
