They Left Liability Of Subsidy Removal To Next Govt, They Kept Approving Monies, Loans, Contract- Shehu Sani

Former senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has reacted to the last minute monetary loans and contract approval of the federal government.

President Muhammadu Buhari who will be leaving the office in a few days has been widely reported to be approving contracts and monies meant for projects that ought to have been completed and delivered long ago.

However, the issue of subsidy removal which has continued to constitute a major bottleneck to the country’s economy has been left unattended to, even after it was clear that the economy is already grounded and one of the major steps to rescucitate it is by removing the petroleum subsidy.

On Tuesday, the president appointed people into offices as part of his last minutes appointments. Similar thing happened on Wednesday at the valedictory council meeting.

Reacting to the moves, Shehu Sani said: “They left the liability of fuel subsidy to next government but they kept approving monies and contract.”

He stated this on his Twitter handle on Thursday.

He wrote:

“They left the liability of subsidies removal and census for the next administration while they kept approving monies, contracts and loans that are binding. The last minutes activities of this regime it’s as if they are handing over to the opposition.”
