LOTUS bank donates new bus to YABATECH, cash gift to best students

The Lotus Bank Management has donated a new 18 Seater JAC Sunray Bus to Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), and also presented a N500, 000 Cheque to the overall best graduating student and N300, 000 Cheque to the best female graduating student. The Bank also donated Computer and IT Accessories to the Banking & Finance Department of the College.

The bus and the cash gifts were in fulfillment of the promise made by the CEO of Lotus Bank, Mrs. Kafilat Araoye during the 34th Convocation Lecture of the College in November 2022, where she was the Convocation lecturer.

The recipient of the N500, 000 is Adisa Toheeb Paul of School of Engineering from Civil Engineering Department being the best graduating students of year 2020/2021 session, while the recipient of N350, 000 is Adanlawon Aishat Olaoluwa of the School of Technology from Crop Production Department being the best female graduating student.

The Computer and IT Accessories donated to the Banking & Finance Department are: Two 55 Inch Flat Screen Television, Four Desktop Computers, Two Printers, Four UPS, One Scanner and Eight Laptops.
Speaking at the presentation, the Executive Director of Lotus Bank, Dr. Isiaka Ajani Lawal noted that their presence in YABATECH is to fulfill the promise made by their Management to the institution. He disclosed that Lotus Bank is a non-interest Nigerian Bank deeply rooted in ethical banking practices, committed to ethical investing and ethical prosperity. He said that the two year old bank is happy to have a profitable and progressive relationship with YABATECH.

Lawal hinted that this is the first presentation of gifts that the bank will do since its inception, and YABATECH is very lucky to be the beneficiary. He promised that the bank will do more for the College in future. He admonished the College community to patronize the bank being an interest free bank without any hidden charges unlike other commercial banks, as there are also enormous benefits to enjoy being their customers.

The then Ag. Rector of the College, Mr. Inyang Udoh on behalf of the Governing Council and Management appreciated Lotus Bank for fulfilling the promise made. He noted that YABATECH is highly delighted to partner with Lotus Bank. He said that higher institutions are being run in advanced countries through endowment fund, and private partnership, and so such should be emulated in Nigeria for academic development in all facets.

He encouraged Yabatech Community to patronize the bank for their magnanimity.
The best graduating student, Adisa Toheeb said that he was honored and humble to be the beneficiary of the Lotus Bank largess. He thanked the Bank for the cash gift, and promised that the gift will spur him to work harder, and also make him a good ambassador of the College.
He eulogized the College for creating the conducive environment for him to learn and also he thanked the immediate past Rector, Engr. Obafemi Omokungbe, and the School of Technology most especially Civil Engineering Department.

Other dignitaries of Lotus Bank that attended the presentation were: Balogun Adisa, Head, Private Bank, M.O. Oladapo, Laison Officer, and Akpedeye Walter, Bank Officer.
