Two Innocent Looking Female Suspects In The Murder Of Water View Hotel MD Remanded In Prison

Two female suspects have been remanded in prison over the murder of the Managing Director of Water View Hotel, Adeniyi Ojo.

The suspects, Joy Adama Joseph (22) and her friend, David Favour Oreoluwa, (23) were dragged before Magistrate Monisola Kamson for culpable homicide and armed robbery.

The Police First Information Report (FIR) revealed that the suspects paid the MD a visit and that they went into the hotel room together.

The FIR reads in part: “The ladies dashed out of the facility without the MD, pretending they wanted to get Bullet drinks from the garden across.

“The hotel’s receptionist, Abdulsalam Tawakalitu, who was suspicious of them, went to check the MD in the room and discovered the door was locked.

“After several unanswered knocks, the door was forcefully opened and the lifeless body of the manager was found on the bed with his hands, legs tied and his mouth gagged with a rag.

The two suspects reportedly went with the deceased’s mobile phone, removed the SIM card, inserted it in theirs and started making several attempts to transfer money from the MD’s bank account but failed because the account demanded OTP (One Time Passport).”

According to the charge sheet: “Investigation further revealed that Joy, who was armed with a knife, codeine syrup, refnol drug meant for sleep induction, gagged the deceased’s mouth.

“While the deceased’s hands, legs were tied, Adanma held his manhood, threatening to cut if off if he failed to cooperate.

“Adanma confessed to have stabbed the deceased with a knife while Oreoluwa was to get the phone unlocked through the deceased’s face unlock mode.”

The prosecutor, Sanni Abdullah, informed the court that the matter was not ordinarily bailable considering the nature of the case and the life involved.

The Magistrate, Kamson, remanded the accused and adjourned to November 29.
