2023: Atiku’s Ally Advices PDP On How To Treat People Like Gov. Wike And Samuel Ortom

Instead of grandstanding, Reno Omokri, the former media aide to the ex- president Goodluck Jonathan has advised the People’s Democratic Party on how to treat people like Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Samuel Ortom of Benue State.

Wike and Ortom are PDP governors who are known to be very aggrieved for being cheated and taken for granted by the party at the moment.

Governor Wike lost the presidential ticket to Atiku Abubakar in the party’s primary election and when he was hoping to be chosen as a vice presidential candidate of the party, he was dropped for a fellow governor from the South, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

Samuel Ortom who is known to be an unrepentant supporter of Wike was among the 16-man committee set up to shop for Atiku’s running mate. 14 of them voted for Wike while only went for Okowa. However, Atiku decided to settle for the Delta State Governor.

This and many other reasons were said to have angered the two Governors and some other leaders within the party.

Since Atiku emerged as the party’s candidate, it was revealed that he has not met with governor Wike neither has he made any attempt to reconcile other aggrieved members of the party who are currently at the verge of defecting to other parties.

Reacting to the development on Thursday through his verified twitter handle, Reno Omokri said being stoop to conquer is not a sign of weakness.

He cautioned the party not to disparage Wike or Ortom. They should rather listen and appeal to them. They should understand and accommodate them.

Omokri explained that when people who labour to build get angry, they should be embraced.
