Victor Osimhen may be the hero on Sunday when his two goals for Napoli secured a 2-1 victory against Verona, but the striker was racially targeted.
According to Football Italia, Verona fans made a racial slur against Osimhen alongside his teammate Kalidou Kolibaly.
However, Verona has condemned the action and insisted they have zero tolerance for hate speech.
”Hellas Verona FC is an advocate today as always, for a message of peace and condemn any action, gesture or comment that can generate, in any form, incitement towards hate, violence, and discrimination.” A statement said.
If found guilty, Verona may be fined.
Osimhen’s scored the two goals in both halves before he was replaced in the 89th minute.
