Did Obasanjo Really Kneel Down To Beg Atiku For His 2nd Term?- Wike Makes Another Damning Revelation

Nigerians appear to be forgetting political history as quick as possible but Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has made himself available to refresh everyone’s memory about what they might have forgotten especially between 2002 and 2003.

In his bid to further rock the boat of the People’s Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar ahead of 2023 election, the governor has decided to dig up an unpleasant scenario that transpired between the former vice president and his principal, former President Olusegun Obasanjo while in office.

Wike revealed that Obasanjo had to kneel down for Atiku in order to get his support for his (Obasanjo) second term ambition between 2002 and 2003. He disclosed that Atiku had to give him some conditions before an agreement was struck between the two of them.

Wike made this revelation on Friday at the Eneka Road Roundabout, venue of the flag-off ceremony for the construction of Eneka -Igbo Etche Road dualisation project in Rivers State.

“People forget history. In 2002- 2003 when president Olusegun Obasanjo wanted to run for second tenure, he knelt down before his vice president and said my vice please allow me to run.

“You know one of the conditions he gave him, Tony Anenih must be sacked as the Minister of Works and Tony Anenih must not be in the presidential campaign council.

“Obasanjo obliged and sacked Tony Anenih as Minister of Works and removed him from the presidential campaign council,” Wike said.
