Impeachment Looms As Ondo Assembly Writes Deputy Gov. Over Allegation Of Gross Misconduct

The Ondo State House of Assembly has directed the Clerk of the House, Benjamin Jaiyeola to write the Deputy Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa over allegations of Gross Misconduct levelled against him.

The Petition which has been signed by Nine out of 26 Members of the House was read during the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji.

The assembly needs about 60 percent of its members’ signatures to begin the impeachment process of the embattled number two man in the state.

Aiyedatiwa is the second deputy governor to serve and run into crisis with governor Akeredolu over governorship ambition in the state.

The former deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi narrowly escaped an impeachment after decamping to the opposition People’s Democratic Party to realize his ambition against his boss who was running for second term in 2020.
