How Man City Crushed Arsenal’s Hope Of Winning EPL Title After 19 Years

Manchester City inflicted a terrible blow to Arsenal’s hope of grabbing their first English Premier League Title since 2004 after securing a convincing victory against the Gunners on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.

The tension-soaked match ended with 5 goals thriller with Man City registering four goals in both first and second half to sink the table leader.

City dominated the game, with goals from Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, and Erling Haaland securing all three points for Pep Guardiola’s side. The victory reduced Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table to just two points, with City still having two games in hand.

The first goal of the match came just seven minutes in when Haaland, with excellent hold-up play, set up De Bruyne, who drove forward and fired a shot past Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from the edge of the box.

City continued to press forward, and Stones doubled their lead just before halftime, heading home a De Bruyne free-kick on the edge of the box. A lengthy VAR check confirmed that Stones was onside, much to the frustration of the Arsenal players and fans.

In the second half, City continued to dominate, and De Bruyne added a third goal after once again being set up by Haaland. It was a brilliant individual display from De Bruyne, who was involved in all of City’s goals.

Arsenal did manage to grab a consolation goal in the 86th minute, when Rob Holding found the back of the net, but it was too little too late. At injury time, Haaland sealed the victory for City by scoring his 49th goal of the season, leaving Arsenal reeling from the defeat.

This result puts City firmly in the driving seat in the title race, with Arsenal’s lead now looking precarious. While the Gunners still have a chance to bounce back, it will be a tough task to recover from such a heavy defeat against one of their main rivals for the title.
