PHOTOS: Nollywood Actor, Kenneth Okonkwo Formally Defects To Labour Party Weeks After Dumping APC

Harvest of more members has just been recorded in one of the leading opposition parties in Nigeria, The Labour Party. The party which prides itself in the dignity of labour has just welcome a top Nollywood star and movie producer, Kenneth Okonkwo into its fold.

The development was coming weeks after the defector officially resigned his membership from the ruling All Progressive Congress. 

Kenneth Okonkwo had dropped his resignation letter from the APC precisely on July 11, citing the decision of the party to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential candidate as his reason.

He described Tinubu, Shettima’s ticket as a wrong combination and an attempt to scheme out the Christian religion from the decision making process of the federal government if APC eventually wins the 2023 election.

Following his decision to leave the ruling party after about five weeks, Kenneth Okonkwo officially announced on Wednesday that he has joined the Labour Party.

He was received into the Party by Comrade Peter Diugwu who represented the National Executive of the Party. 

According to the Lawyer turned actor and politician, he feels loved and cherished by the visit of these distinguished officials of this people-centric party to their chambers which culminated in his officially joining the Labour Party as a member.

Kenneth Okonkwo disclosed that his defection to Labour Party will enable him assist in his own humble way to the enthronement of His Excellency, Peter Obi, as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023 for the good governance of our dear country which is so blessed by God but has been so battered by bad leaders.
