POS Operator Buys Cars, Houses, Sponsors People To Lesser Hajj After N280m Mistakenly Enters His Account

A PoS operator has gone on a spending spree after receiving a whooping amount of money in his Bank account.

The businessman identified as Alfa Rafiu suddenly became a multimillionaire after a sum of 280 million naira was mistakenly transferred into his account.

Rafiu, who is well known in the business sparked surprises within his community in Ilorin, Kwara state when he started buying expensive cars, houses and sponsoring people to lesser Hajj.

According to sources, the suspect allegedly received a sum of 280 million naira which was transferred in batches into his bank account.

Rather than contacting the bank, he kept quiet and engaged in lavish spending.

The source explained: “About two weeks ago, he received several bank alerts that scaled up to N280 million which he knew nothing about.

“But instead of him drawing the attention of the bank that mistakenly transferred the huge fund, he went on a speeding spree.

“Rafiu bought houses, cars and sponsored people to the lesser Hajj. Some of those he sponsored are presently in Saudi Arabia as we speak.

“Although he was generous to several people in the community, some residents were surprised about his sudden wealth as a PoS operator,” the source added.

The suspect has however been arrested by a team of policemen from C Division Police Station, Oja Oba, Ilorin. The officers were accompanied by some bank Officials.
