How Grandmother Set Her Sleeping Son, Wife And 2 Sons On Fire In Ondo 

A grandmother simply identified as lforiti has reportedly set her own son, his wife and two children on fire.

While the last son is currently battling for life, the couple and their first child are dead as a result of severe burns sustained from the fire.

The incident which happened at Aponmu community, Akure South Local government area of Ondo State has thrown the entire area into panic and confusion.

According to an eye witness, Korede Michael, the woman committed the dastardly act because the family starved her. While narrating the incident to newsmen, the witness said: “I saw the house on fire around 2am.”

Narrating how it happened, he said: “We saw the house on fire around 2:00 am at the weekend and had to break the window to rescue everyone in the house.

“The woman, her son, Victor Oloro; wife, Rachael; and children, Toluwani and Blessing, were all in the house when the woman set it on fire.

She got some dry palm fronds and the little petrol her son kept in a gallon (for generator), spread it around the house and then put fire to it.”

The source explained that the entire family was burnt in the house. While trying to rescue them, they rushed them to a State government owned hospital in Akure but they were rejected and asked to take them to Federal Medical Centre, Owo due to their condition.

Before getting to Owo, the couple and one of the children have died. The last one managed to get to FMC but remained in a critical condition since then.

Ondo State Police Public Relation Officers, Funmilayo Odunlami cinfirmed the incident and stated that the case has been transferred to the state criminal Investigation department.
