Power To Vote Resides With People- Rivers Fed. Lawmaker Dares Wike With 10-Million-Man March For Atiku, Okowa

A member of the Federal House of Representatives from Rivers State, Farah Dagogo has countered the state Governor, Nyesom Wike over his statement that votes from Rivers state will be goven to whoever he wishes.

Wike has been in a running battle with the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar since he lost the ticket and also lose out in the choice of running mate.

The governor has recently boasted that he controls the politics of Rivers State and the people will vote for whoever he wants them to vote for in 2023. This statement has continued to raise storm in the public as many believed that Wike is trying to insult the sensibility of his people.

As at this moment, the governor is yet to be on the same page with the former vice president who is the presidential candidate of his party. There has been rumours that Wike is holding a closed-meeting with the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Paris.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity over the plan of governor Wike to monopollize the vote of Rivers people, Farah Dagogo said the power to vote is in the hands of the people through their PVC.

He said the people know who they want and no one can influence their decision. Dagogo boasted that he would organize a 10 million-man match in Port Harcourt for Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa to prove to Governor Wike that the people still love the PDP with or without Wike in the center.

“Let no one be deceived, conducting elections in Nigeria has metamorphosed, the voting power is with the people. No one can order anyone around, on who to vote or not, no matter how highly placed, because the people are the deciders with their PVCs and votes.”

He assured that “a 10-million-man-march for Atiku and his Vice Presidential Candidate Okowa is already at an advanced stage and will be held in the coming days across the Niger Delta states to further galvanise the people and prove to naysayers that the region is for PDP.
