It Is A Condemnable Lie That I Brought Insecurity To Anambra – Peter Obi Replies Adams Oshiomole

The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Dr Peter Obi has responded to the statement made by the former governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomole over the orchestration of insecurity in Anambra State.

The former National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress had, while speaking at the APC Youths Conference, disclosed that it was Peter Obi that brought Bakassi boys to Anambra state during his tenure as governor of the state.

According to Oshiomole, it was Peter Obi’s successor that started the demolition of kidnappers’ houses in the state and not Peter Obi as he claimed. Oshiomole made the statement in a bid to demarket the labour party standard bearer who is believed to have been more accepted among the Youths across the country.

Responding to Oshiomole’s statement through his Media Aide, Valentine Obienyem on Tuesday, Peter Obi described the statement as a childish and condemnable lie.

According to the statement, it was the reckless killing of Prophet Eddy Nawgu by Bakassi boys that informed the decision of Peter Obi to join Politics in order to restore sanity, humanity and decency to the society.

In other words, Bakassi has been existing before Obi came to government in Anambra and it was his government that brought an end to their existence.

On the issue of demolition of kidnappers houses in the State, Obienyem revealed that it was Peter Obi that started the demolition. He cited various newspaper publications that wrote the reports to back up the claim.

Also, Obienyem provided copious statements from former Commissioners of Police in Anambra State on the matter. Starting with former Commissioner of Police, Bello Amusu, he quoted his interview  and also provided a link to it.
