Imo house of assembly speaker removed

Kennedy Ibe has been impeached as the speaker of the Imo state house of Assembly.

Without wasting time, the state assembly elected Emeka Nduka as its new speaker, according to Politics Nigeria.

Nduka, who represents the Ehime Mbano State Constituency, was immediately sworn-in by the Clerk of the Assembly, Chinelo Emeghara, and was congratulated by the Deputy Speaker, Amara Iwuanyanwu, the Majority Leader, Kanayo Onyemaechi of Owerri West, and ranking lawmaker, Ngozi Obiefule of Isu State Constituency.

It was gathered that Ibe was removed over anti-party activities and allegedly participating in a plot to impeach the governor, Hope Uzodinma.

Furthermore, he was at loggerheads with his deputy, Amara iwuanyanwu.
