Buhari/Atiku presidential tussle: Tribunal to deliver judgment this week

By A’isha Raji
Presidential Election Tribunal is set to deliver judgment on the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar challenging President Muhammadu Buhari in the last general election.

However, the particular date for the judgment has not been fixed yet but it’s expected to come within the week.
This is according to the Chairman of the five-man panel, Justice Mohammed Garba. He said the duration of the petition will lapse by September 14 hence why judgment should be passed unfailingly this week.
As contained in section 134 (2) and (3) of the electoral Act, 2010, it provides that the limit of electoral petition should not exceed 180 days.
