Yasins signs out as NURTW President gets titled as Bashorun of Offa

Alhaji Najeemdeen Usman Yasin, president, National Union of Road Transport Workers’ tenure ended Monday as he passed out at a ceremony held at his hometown, Offa local government of Kwara state.
Welcoming him home at his palace amidst drum and songs was the royal father of the town, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye (II), the Oba said as a mark of happiness, he conferred on him a title of Bashorun of Offa.
The Chief Imam, Alhaji Muhydeen Salman said the outgoing transport president needs all the prayers now that he’s no more in power. He said the feat he recorded for the union is first of its kind.
Yasin in his speech thanked all that made it possible in his tenure. “I have nothing else to say than appreciate everyone,” he said.
He called all members of the union to support the incoming president.
He also advised them to shun hooliganism especially at the incoming elections in the union.
The new president, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa deputised by Alhaji Isa Ore has however taken over as the new president of the union.
Present at the occasion was Senator Lola Ashiru, representing Kwara South senatorial district, Hon. Gbenga Yusuf (JK ) representing Essa, Shawo Igboidun constituency at the state assembly, MC Oluomo and popular Fuji music artist, Sefiu Alao and host of others.
